Fly fishing in Austria / Slovenia May 2010

A great trip to some nice waters in the S part of Austria. If I was to live in an other country than my Denmark, Austria is not a bad place to become old, with a #4 & #5 rod, real's that match and flyes that hatch;-)

This is fish porn!

Ansager A

Species: Sea trout, Brown trouts, Rainbows and Graylings!

Description: Beat Sender to Krogager

The stream is between 3-5m wide, and she runs with a medium fast current.

The water is of a fine and clean quality. The brown trout is the most come, but grayling and rainbows are just as often caught. I am not to give any guarantee that you con not find a salmon or a sea trout up here, but it is the Class 4-5 gear you are playing, in these pools.

Grindsted A

Species: Brown trouts, Rainbows and Graylings.

Description: As a medium size stream, she is up to 10meters wide, near the town of Grindsted. She has a steady current, and a sink tip lines is often the solution, if you are to get down into the deep canals and hols. Here you will find browns and rainbows and due to the clean waters you will also run into some nice graylings. Late in the season the sea trout has found its way up to this part of the system. It is the browns and grays that are of interest in this part of the system.

Class 4-5 gear you are playing with, in these pools.

Here you will find the new and free E-Magazine made by fly fishers aimed at fly fishers.
the best e magazine on marked today together with catch magazine.
I make Guided tours to the coast for sea trout, in Denmark and the S. Coast of Sweden.
In the streams, we hunt for the grayling or brown trout. In the rivers we fish the great Salmons and Sea trout. Fly fishing is the most fun when you know where to go, and when to be there.
It is not something you can just read about, and as an angler that has spend moor than 1/2 my life as a passioned angler I know that, if you do not have the local knowhow fly fishing can become a lot of driving, looking, resurche and time spend on a lot of NOT FISHING!

To catch a wild Salmonide in our modern world of today is sadly, not something you just do!

With a guide you are not garantied a catch, and you do also have to drive somewhat, and look for the fish but with a guide atleast you know where and when to search for the fish.

I have spend way to many houers not knowing where to find the fish, and when I finally spotted
the fish I spooked it due to wrong technic, or some other detail that I did not know about.

I have used guides my self when I have been in Sweden, Austria, England, Norway, and Slovenia. This has helped a lot on the outcome of my trips.

Where it all started

As a child I, as many other anglers, startet my passion for fishing when my Father gave me my first rod, and toke me to a lake, armed with cork, hooks, worms, and we had a great time catching
small pikes. I was bourn all ower as a angler.
